GIFT GUIDE: The Luxury Edit

Well, another year has come around and it’s time for holiday shopping. I thought I would start off with a bang this year because I have done so little shopping this year for myself. We’ve been saving up for baby 2 (surprise if you didn’t see my announcement on IG, haha), and to potentially be purchasing a home once we retire from military life (fingers-crossed for the economy!).

So here is my first gift guide, the Luxury edit. It’s just like a dream list of things but also for those who are looking to go a little more luxurious this year or maybe as a push present ideas? *Cough-I-hope-my-husband-sees-this-cough.

Hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and didn’t go too crazy with Cyber deals. I’m thinking I might still do a quick cyber roundup since so many brands have extended past the normal one-day sales. I think is such a great strategy so you can really shop around to find the best deals. Would you guys like it if I did a ‘Black Friday’ round-up? Let me know! SHOPGUIDE: Shopbop Black Friday Sale

This is such a good sale, I wanted to create an entire post about it. Shopbop has been my go-to for shopping lately. They have some amazing selections and brands and I love how quickly they ship to me! I have a huge running wishlist on their site so I’m excited that almost everything is included in their sale.

These are some brands that I love in general that I always can get quality pieces from. Great wardrobe staples and fall/winter essentials are discounted which is amazing. I’ve actually already started collecting pieces from a fall/winter wardrobe since the next place we move to will most likely have seasons.

BRANDS I LOVE ON SALE:

RE/DONE (Shop Re/Done here): Great denim and t-shirts. Their denim is sustainable and so well cut, they make some of my all-time favorite jeans.

KHAITE (shop Khaite here): Another amazing brand, Shopbop carries their denim and I have a pair from them I absolutely love. Classic styles and they fit like a glove/

VINCE (shop Vince here): Vince is one of my top brands for staple pieces. They make so many classic silhouettes and I’ve never been disappointed in their material. I have a lot of their tops, tees, and trousers. You can’t go wrong and most of the pieces are on sale which is amazing

ISABEL MARANT (shop Isabel Marant here): The epitome of chic French girl for sure. I’ve purchased some amazing Isabel pieces over the years that have worn beautifully. Love her sweaters and jackets mostly which are great to purchase now that we’re heading into Winter.

EDITORIAL: Pernille Teisbaek x Farfetch

I’m a huge fan of stylist and OG blogger, Pernille Teisbaek.

Her style is effortless, minimal, and cool mom I want to hang out with! I’ve been following her for years now and she truly has my dream closet. She has a great way of looking timeless but with an edgy twist. Pernille wears lots of minimal looks but she can also wear and style color really well too which is something I am not great at. I can find color to be intimidating and I always feel like when I wear colorful things, they tend to get repetitive way faster than a neutral color.

Living on an island though, I do feel like color goes so well here and it just makes me happy! So I’ve been taking style cues from Pernille on how to dress with color.

Well, in the meantime of researching her looks, I came across this recent collaboration she did with Farfetch wearing one of my favorite new designers, Khaite.

I had to share it because selfishly I want to look back at it for style inspo but also it’s just so beautiful done and photographed, I knew you all would appreciate it as much as I do!

FASHION: Khaite Resort 2020

Khaite has quickly become one of the fashion houses I’m always checking in on. Started by Assembled Brands who are the creative geniuses behind the luxury shopping ‘experience’ store, The Line - The Apartment. Although those stores closed last year without much warning to their loyal customers or a reason (yes, I’m a little bitter about it!), Assembled Brands seems to have great success with creative director Catherine Holstein’s brand, Khaite.

You may have heard of Khaite recently when newly single Katie Holmes was pictured wearing a chic cashmere bra and sweater that exposed her right shoulder as she was hailing a cab in New York City. Yes, that iconic picture that broke the internet for a week, or so it seemed.

After the Katie Holmes images, I noticed more and more people outside of the typical Fashion crowd were talking about Khaite and I loved it! I think because we’ve had a hole missing with Phoebe Philo’s exit from Céline and although Philo’s genius was truly other worldly - we need new brands to fill that void and one of those for me is Khaite! So I wanted to share Khaite’s latest collection, Resort 2020.

I could switch out almost my whole wardrobe just for this collection. It’s just the right amount of feminine/masculine mix while keeping things in beautiful neutrals. Holstein is incredible at designing with textures and volume which I love her for. I own a pair of Khaite jeans which are so perfect - I wear them all the time. FYI if you’re a size 26 please pick up this pair that’s currently on sale, trust me, you won’t regret them! Would love to own more of her pieces and I’m consciously trying to shop better and invest in quality items and Khaite pieces are always on my list.

PORTRAIT OF A LADY: Khaite Resort Collection

Really stunning imagery for Khaite's New Resort Collection by Hanna Tveite for The Line.
