The Jean Jacket.

Summer is quickly fading away and the degrees are decreasing by early afternoon. Suddenly, it's getting a little chilly after 4 pm and by 7, all I want to do is crawl into a chunky knit and some cashmere socks. Not quite coat season yet but I need a little something extra when heading out. My favorite transitional piece is a good jean jacket. So easy to throw on over any basics. I like to roll up the sleeves and pop a little collar and suddenly I feel like John Lennon in the mid 70's, ya know...awesome.

What's great about a jean jacket is that like jeans, they come in tons of washes and styles. You can get yours faded, distressed, cropped, over-sized - you name it. I'm obsessed with my boyfriend fit jean jacket lately. It's perfectly over-sized and in a light wash that goes great with black skinnies. If you can't find one in a retail store or online - thrift it. I found an insane Levi's vintage jean jacket in a super dark wash at a Goodwill last year and it was like finding gold. I was thrilled with the fit and how perfectly worn in it was and after a couple washes it looks even better. Can't wait to wear it this weekend.

Protagonist Collection No. 3.

Lately, I can't get enough of Protagonist's new Fall 2014 ready-to-wear collection. Protagonist is very new to the Fashion scene only being established in 2013 but has garnered a lot of attention due to it's clean lines and simple, refined silhouettes. I discovered a lot about Protagonist after speaking to their CEO some months back and really just became fascinated with it. Once it hit the boutique I was working at, I was hooked. I want every piece in this new Fall Collection but I think I'll narrow it down to one or two pieces, for now.

You can shop the collection online here and here.

It's available at Barneys New York and if you're shopping in Colorado, MAX boutique carries some of their best pieces at both the Denver and Boulder locations.

I'm excited to see what's to come for designer Kate Wendelborn and Protagonist as a label - the creative team behind it is genius, I mean - how amazing is this Fall 2014 campaign!?
