Saturday morning and I'm flipping through magazines and Vogue.com only to be reminded of the amazing collections that came out for Resort 2016. One of my favorites is Balenciaga. Minimal color scheme with the most stunning textures and silhouettes. Alexander Wang continues to carry the fashion house and elevate it with every collection.
Interior: Marble Kitchen
Nothing like a beautiful marble kitchen to inspire you to cook every meal from scratch. I love cooking and currently am residing in an old Victorian home with a tiny galley kitchen where I can barely open the oven cause it'll hit some cabinets. So, clearly I spend a lot of times fawning over kitchens on Pinterest. I stumbled upon this lovely one with an incredible amount of marble. Love how it carries through to the sink, back splash, and a shelf for displaying some elegant glass pieces and all your cookbooks. Somewhat masculine but with refined feminine touches - this is kind of a dream kitchen for a couple. I'm sure both parties would be happy cooking in here.
ONE: Decorating with a dark glass vase for an elegant look. I'd add some white flowers to give some life to the kitchen. These come in various styles and sizes so adding a couple more for a nice collection to display on the shelf.
TWO: Can't have a kitchen without a wine decanter for those lovely dinner parties you'll be throwing.
THREE: My mom just recently bought this Plenty More Cookbook and I'm so tempted to 'borrow' it from her, long term....really great recipes and beautiful images to go along with. You'll want to cook every single meal from this book.
FOUR: Nothing like a great solid wood cutting board for chopping up all those fresh veggies.
FIVE: Love this cute little Hand-carved Jam Spatula.
SIX: A simple glass pitcher for serving up some delicious drinks or water and fresh lemon. Nice to mix it up and use it as a vase as well.
SEVEN: Love the idea of a fine art piece hanging in the kitchen. A simple still life to add to the most important room in the house.

Pony Up
I just love a good pony tail. Being able to push all your hair away from your face, especially on those hotter summer days. In the Spring/Summer issue of The Gentlewoman I was thrilled to see this beautiful story on Pony Tails. A little retro with a modern twist. Thankfully, you need very few products to achieve these chic looks.
I like to start with a good 'froth' or mousse. It helps your hair hold the style without weighing it down. For the first Pony look, curl your hair from the middle of your hair, down (about 2 inches at a time) and then brush through lightly for a more vintage type curl at the ends. I like to curl in one direction, away from my face. For the high pony part - flip head upside down and gather hair at the crown to get the height you would like. Wrap around with a tie and shimmy the pony a little atop your head so the grasp isn't so tight and you get a little volume. Finish the 'tail' with some shine serum for a very polished look.
For the second Pony look, again, begin with the mousse. I like to put the product straight on my brush and brush it through my damp hair so that the product is distributed evenly throughout. Blow dry. Gather hair at the nape of the neck for a low ponytail and fasten with a black hair tie. Between the hair tie and nape of neck create an opening large enough to get the ponytail looped through. Loop through once or twice depending on how tight you would like the pony to be, pull tight but not too aggressively so the twist doesn't lose it's form. Use a little serum to polish up the ends and bring down fly-aways. Et, voila!

Bright White Denim
So excited that it's finally time to bring out your bright white skinny jeans. Probably my favorite item of clothing during the summer. You can easily dress it up with a cute silk top or just a simple denim shirt for a casual look. Heels, flats, sneaks ~ everything goes.
Inspiration
Currently fawning over photographer Jesús Madriñan's Still Life Photography...
I have an immense interest in people's work spaces. Artists, Designers, Photographers, Stylists - I love knowing what's happening behind the scenes. In Madriñán's 'El Estudio', he embraces the process of his work in what is left over from his studio sessions. Photographing the objects as they are while he works. Stunning series - I'm very very fond of his work.
Check out more of his photography work HERE.
