October Mood Board

Fall is finally here and October has begun. Feels very different when you’re living somewhere tropical and the temperature doesn’t drop the way you’d like it to! Still getting used to this whole island living but slowly, it’s feeling more and more like home. That doesn’t mean I’m not going to make our space as Fall as I can! Switching out fruity/summer-y candles for deep scents that remind me of Winter and a crackling fire. Thinking of doing a round-up of my favorite Fall candles to help everyone get in the mood! July Wishlist

Can’t believe how quickly July came! Spring flew buy and now we are officially into Summer. Here is a quick little round-up of beautiful things I’m currently wishing for. Take a look!

1. Rattan Pitcher by Jenni Kayne.

   Love this Rattan pitcher for serving up Iced Tea and Lemonade on a hot day or as a chic vase for some white flowers! It’s simply and chic like most of Jenni Kayne’s designs which is why I absolutely love her. Definitely purchasing this pitcher!

2. Gold Rings by AUrate

   I’m a huge fan of gold jewelry! I love layering multiple gold pieces and these Stacking rings are perfect to pile on. AUrate makes some great pieces in 14k solid gold so you don’t have to worry about taking them off for everything. Their packaging is also really stunning and minimal with tiny little pink pouches to keep your jewelry clean and organized. 3. Smocked Bikini by Onia

   Lately I’ve really been into textured swimwear. I think the texture gives it a little something extra and I’m trying to change things up now that I’m in swimsuits so often! Living on an island has it’s perks! Linked the TOP and the BOTTOM of this bikini.

4. The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

   I’ve had this book on my ‘read’ list for so long, I think it’s finally time I pick up a copy! I heard that it’s being made into a movie so I need to get started on it asap!

5. Belgium Dress by Reformation

   This dress is beautiful! I love the puff sleeve detail and the midi-length. It’s so lady-like! I’m usually not into wearing dresses but I’ve been stuck in such a rut with what to wear when it’s hot 90% of the time. So I guess I really need this dress….

6. Pulp by Byredo

   I don’t normally switch out scents during the seasons but now that I’m living in Hawaii, I’ve been drawn more towards light, citrusy scents. Pulp is my ultimate fragrance. It’s bright, it’s fruity, without being too sweet. It’s truly perfect. I’m finishing up a sample I got from the last time I visited Byredo and then I need to purchase a full bottle of this!

7. Waffle towels by Parachute

   I’m a huge fan of the brand Parachute. I got my first ‘adult’ sheets there. These perfect dark grey linen sheets that sadly no longer fit my kind bed. But I’m happy to share them with guests when they stay over and now I feel like I need something to replace them! While I’m saving up for the King set, I do want to try their Waffle towels. My best friend has them in this beautiful grey color and I look forward to using them every time I visit her. So, I guess it’s time I purchase my own set. They are soft, they are comfortable, and I guess I’m really having a thing for texture now!

8. Le Vernis Longera Nail Colour in Open Air by Chanel Beauty

   Chanel carries some of the best nail colors and their formula is sooooo good. Although they are on the pricier side I only purchase colors I find to be really exciting and different! I bought this beautiful coral color at the beginning of Spring and now I think I need this pastel purple next.

9. Tanya Patent Leather Nude Heels by BY FAR

   Owning a great nude heel is very important! I think now that I’ve been working from home, I don’t dress up as much but it’s nice to still throw on a pretty heel for dinner now and then. These are so perfect because the heel height is ideal and the two straps give you stability while still looking minimal and elegant.

10. The Row x Oliver’s People “Board Meeting” Square Sunglasses

    All I want right now is a pair of The Row x Oliver People’s Sunglasses. They are simple, they are elegant and they are incredibly flattering. These are definitely on the higher end for sunglasses and for someone who tends to forget my sunglasses in restaurants too often, I have held off on buying them but they still are always on my mind!

I hope everyone is starting off their week well. It’ll be a short one with a four day weekend coming up so remember to give it your all in everything you do this week and then relax and do a little shopping :)

INTERIORS: Light and Airy Bungalow

Well, I thought I was going to start the year off strong. Instead, I came down with a cold and then an ear infection so I’ve spent the last 7 days in bed….it’s been wonderful! haha so I’m just now feeling a little bit better and had the energy to come up with a quick post.

Ben and I are moving soon and I’ve been gathering a lot of inspiration for what we want our home to look like! We still have no clue where we will be living exactly but it’s always nice to start off with some ideas of how we’d like our space to be. I’m hoping we can find a place that is bright and open with at least 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Where are we moving to you may ask? Well, I will also be sharing that very soon, promise! In the meantime, here is a beautiful home I found that has a lot of elements that I love. It’s Scandinavian with a touch of California cool. I’ve always enjoyed Scandinavian interior design and have wanted to push those style elements more in our home so I think this is a good start.

It’s white and bight with great mixes of different colored wood. Not too fussy, just clean, simple and chic. I’m trying to minimize our home to feel very homey but also not cluttered. We tend to gather a lot of unnecessary stuff and my goal is to clear out the excess. I used to save candle boxes and good packaging for no particular reason other than I liked the boxes but they had no use! I’m trying to move away from that and just keep what is needed/sparks joy (Marie Kondo - anyone? lol).

I love this living space. It feels very inviting! I love how big the coffee table is as well. It’s reachable from every seat which I think makes a space feel more accessible. Nothing worse than a tiny coffee table and having to reach over to set your coffee or champagne down!

This outdoor area is also so beautiful! I dream of having an outdoor living space for entertaining. The mix of concrete and blues and grays feels like an extension of the family and dinning room. Imagine having a dinner party here?! ugh. Need it!

Welcome to Santa Clara 1728 in Lisbon Portugal. Take a peek inside this stunning home...

WE STUMBLED ACROSS AN ENCHANTING 18TH CENTURY BUILDING, IN ONE OF THE MOST ROMANTIC LISBON SQUARES, LOCATED IN THE OLD CULTURAL QUARTER OF THE CITY. SANTA CLARA 1728 IS SURROUNDED BY MONUMENTS, BEAUTIFUL PALACES AND A PARK WITH STUNNING VIEWS OF THE RIVER. 

Charmed by the beauty of the place we soon discovered that we had found our new family home...

The renovation carried out under the guidance of our good friend Manuel Aires Mateus, not only respected the original heritage, but it also added serenity and comfort through the purity which defines his architecture. The outcome was a peaceful home where guests are welcomed as long time friends.

I would do anything to stay in this home. The interior design and decor are absolutely stunning. Minimal yet warm and inviting. I imagine the stay here is really special. One day!

NEW IN featuring maison louis marie

Currently my favorite line of candles from Maison Louis Marie. I found them at The Line a while ago and have bought so many since. They are such lovely scented candles with a super cute, minimal glass holder. I always have candles lit in my apartment so they burn fairly quickly. I go through so many because of it (oops), so the fact that these are also so well priced it's hard not to love them.
