Where it all began.
Floriana Gavriel and Rachel Mansur met in Los Angeles at a concert and became fast friends. The next time they were to meet was at the LA Flower Market where Mansur Gavriel truly began as a brand. They started with a small selection of handbags, most well known was the Bucket Bag. We viewed these bags on all the Editors, the OG Bloggers, and suddenly they took over the streets of Fashion Week. I appreciated the aesthetic of the Bucket bag almost as much as I loved it's functionality. You can toss everything in those babies and still have room for more (well the big ones at least).
Mansur Gavriel has expanded tremendously over the years and recently debuted their first Ready-to-wear collection which was so dreamy (you can check it out here). A beautiful color story with incredible textiles in classic and functional shapes. Circling back to the Flower Market where Mansur and Gavriel me,t we have this book they created as an artistic reference to a place near and dear to them. Photographed by my favorite photo twins the Posternak Sisters, this book is really a beautiful expression of LA's Flower Market and the beginning of the brand Mansur Gavriel.
