INTERIORS: Rick Owen's Neutral Bathroom

I recently came across a Vogue article on Rick Owens home in Venice and I fell in love with his bathroom. So serene, designed in the most beautiful neutral tones that mimic the colors of the earth. It’s minimal and modern yet so warm and inviting. I would die to take a shower here, wow!

THE EDIT: September Wishlist 2021

Sharing my September wishlist as this one is a tad more special since it’s my birthday month. Hoping to pickup a few items from my wishlists for myself and dropping some obvious hints to family/my husband. :)

SeptemberWishlist_2021_Shopbop.jpg

We’re already half way through September and I feel like it’s just flown by. Summer is coming to an end and fall is right around the corner, or for Hawaii…cooler summer…? This will be my last birthday spent here in Hawaii and it’s very bitter-sweet. I’m excited to hear where we go to next but Hawaii has really become home. I will miss it dearly.

If I was in more ‘fall’ type weather, this Brogger dress is exactly what I would want to wear. I’m loving the girly dresses and masculine boot look. Super edgy and chic. These Ganni ones have been calling my name and I wish I could get them but they are sold out in my size. Also, I feel a little silly buying boots on an island - haha, but I know next fall my wardrobe will be very different than it is now. I’m getting inspired at what I will be adding to it.

In need of a new room spray and this Loewe Honeysuckle scent sounds divine. Has anyone tried Loewe’s candles or home scents yet? Dying to know their staying power and if they are worth the tag. Let me know in the comments!

A friend of mine (hi Laura! her website if you’d like to take a peek: 91 LANE) introduced me to JADE swim. I don’t even have one of their suits yet and I’m already in love. The clean, minimal lines in the most beautiful colors. I have about 7 saved in my shopping cart and this gorgeous blue piece is at the top of the list. Currently on sale and I believe it’s the last size so grab it if you can! Enjoying my year round swimsuit days while I still can.

Also on the list, more jewelry. Are you surprised!? These are a little more day-to-day pieces. The small hoops by Mejuri which would be perfect for running around in. Although I’m still nervous to wear dangling things around my daughter - I feel like these are just the right size that she hopefully won’t pull on them. Make sure to use the link above to get 10% off your Mejuri purchase!

Can’t go wrong with new sunglasses, these are Bottega. It’s like lipstick - just fully transforms an outfit. These are classic yet have the perfect gold detail to them. I need.

Last but not least, this beautiful book. I dream of getting my Interior Design degree and have heavily thought about going back to school for it, so I’m getting inspired by books and other designers. Also, I always need inspiration for our next place. We have no clue if we will be in a house, in an apartment - nothing yet! So I just gather ideas to keep myself sane and looking at beautiful design books really helps.

Anything on your wishlist pre-fall? Would love to know.

Enjoy your last bits of summer everyone and thanks for checking in as I get back to blogging more consistently! I’ve missed it and I think there is a big push to getting back to slow living, hopefully reading and writing blog posts will help me with that. If you have a blog, I’d love to read. Drop it in the comments! Always looking for great blog reads.

FASHION: Phil Oh's Street Style #NYFW Edition

STREET STYLE HAS RETURNED!

Ooof, what a breath of fresh air. I feel like Paris Fashion Week was a blur so I’m focusing on the latest #NYFW. Have you been keeping up with the shows? I feel like I’ve been so uninspired by clothes and that very well could be because I don’t leave the house much and spend most my time crawling around picking up toys in sweatpants. So, I was a little jealous to see everyone out and about dressed up and putting their best foot forward. I’ll get there again, eventually? In the meantime - here are some of my favorite snaps.

Do you have a favorite street-style star? I always love to see the editors post show. Aimee Song is still one of my favorite OG bloggers and I always enjoy seeing what she wears. Missed so many people we normally see at shows but alas, the pandemic is still happening so I understand why people skipped out. Also, shoutout to everyone who still wore a mask because again….pandemic.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I have some great posts coming up this week so make sure to stay tuned.

STYLE: Effortless Summer

An effortless summer is what we needed after this past year. Although things aren’t fully back to ‘normal’, it’s nice to dress up a bit outside of just workout shorts and tees. Super inspired by this look, mostly because it’s easy but feels very put together.

BLACK OVERSIZED SHIRT (shop more button down shirts here), HIGH WAISTED DENIM SHORTS (shop more denim shorts here), BLACK FLIP-FLOPS (shop more flip flops here), BASKET BAG (shop more summer bags here)

I can’t get enough of oversized button downs. I think I want one in every color. You just feel a little sexy yet classic and you can’t go wrong with black, ever. What I love is this look can also be reversed with a more fitted black shirt buttoned up and super baggy shorts. A little more edgy take. Dress up this look even more with a ballet flat or kitten heeled sandal (or how perfect would this be with a Carolyne Manolo slingback pump) and a more structured bag. Don’t you just love pieces you can re-imagine over and over.

Remember to look into materials like 100% cotton and linen as they will be way more comfortable and breathable for the summer. The only way to do black without overheating!

We still have plenty of summer left, thankfully! What looks are you gravitating towards? Let me know in the comments.
